Nearly after a year break of your best hobby… if resume hobby, definitely reach the heights during retry. It is might not happen always :).

I started practicing for women’s day 2015 in month of Feb beginning.

Vionth and I reached the EGL campus in 30 minutes early to the event starting point. I was planned at 6:30 am.

I started the race with confidence. I completed the race in 55 minutes after 4 years in 10 kilometers discipline.

Three reasons to achieve this,
  • After a long break in participating the events
  • Dedicated practice for this event

5 Easiest ways to resume your endurance running after a long break

In Modern world, due too many reasons (Physical or mental) to stop long running habits is possible. It is not a dead-end. You can resume anything you have a proper preparation.  As a Theory, any momentum is stopped for working, again resume the things need a little more effort for bring them into main line.

Here, Few ways are listed which help to bring things in controlled and effective manner.

  • Think like you’re a beginner and create a short term running for plan for a month
  • Spend additional time for strength exercise to avoid injuries in initial days
  • Run in ground or circuit so you measure effectiveness, preferable in the 1 KM circuit
  • Mental wiliness is a key for success. So prepare yourself mentally and follow the plan strictly
  • In your leisure time, starting seeing your old records, medals, BIB numbers, T-shirts and read about running.

Bangalore Mid-Night Marathon - 10K ( 20th Dec 2014)

Mental Strength very important when got physical injury in body for recovery.
This strength will help us recover the injury fast...

In Month April 2014, when I was walking roadside due to pothole, got a “ankle type II injury”. I did not knew, it is kind of series injury.. I ran TCS Bangalore 10K with pain.. Later pain got increased and consulted family doctor & another Ortho Specialist. They recommended for MRI Scan... I have done MRI Scan. Scan results are positive about “Type II ankle Injury”... They advised to me, “No Running for 6 months”; I was doing proper recovery exercises and yoga. Final I recovered in December.
This year, I thought to complete full marathon and registered for Chennai marathon. I missed to participate due to this. However I thought running at least official event before 2014 ends.

I registered for Bangalore Mid-night 10K event. I went along with Vionth and Krishna raj. Open 10K started around 10 pm. All arrangements are good. Event was interesting, because I was running first time official run in night time.

Still long way there to achieve Full Marathon… I am targeting in Mid of 2015.. Let see, only time has answer..

Singapore Half Marathon 2013 ( 29th Nov to 3rd Dec )

Your heartful dream and hard work, make you awake and assure to achieve your goal.

This statement, I studied and heard in many forms (like books, Newspaper, TV, Radio, Speech… ) in my whole life in different events and timelines.  When I was completed my first Mumbai Half Marathon in Mumbai ( Jan 2011 ), I was thinking what is next…. . I decided to participate any one of the international marathon. I started working for that..

Our Country India is developing nation. We (middle class and below middle class people, most of them) go foreign nations to work irrespective of white color, technical, or non-technical job. It is very common in our village, my relatives circle and my friends too..

“A guy born in small village like Ayvathanpatti from developing nation and going for trip to developed nation for Running Marathon…?”  There were million dollar questions in my mind. But three questions I want share here. .

  • Financial capable
  • Capable to run Marathon
  • Parents Support
However I decided in my mind somehow I will execute this dream… I started worked for this dream… Finally this dream and thought came through by Singapore Marathon 2013.

I registered for Singapore Half-Marathon in July and got confirmation too. My friend and I booked tickets and applied Visa. We started from Bangalore to Singapore via Malaysia. We landed at Changai International Airport Terminal 2 in Singapore.

We visited for the following places in Singapore.
  • Orchid’s Road
  • Singapore Museum
  • Singapore National Library
  • Singapore National Zoo
  • Singapore National Park
  • Universal Studio
  • Marina Stands
  • Sentosa island
  • Little India ( Teeka)  and some more places..

Half Marathon was scheduled on Dec 1 . Starting point for Half marathon was Sentosa Land.  I collected from my bib numbers and race kit form EXPO HALL.

Marathon Day:

There were special train service was arranged whole Singapore for marathon from morning 2:45 am onwards.  Our friend Bala dropped us in Little India MRT. We took (Selvam and myself) MRT from Little India and reached venue around 5:45 am (Harbour MRT).

My event was started at 6:30 am as scheduled. Singapore Govt , Police and Singapore Sport council arranged all the needed facilities. Usually my all previous marathon participation crowded by Indian nationalities and few international runners. This time it was a vice-versa case..

Marathon Route:

Gateway Ave -> Palawan Beach walk -> Siloso beach walk -> Universal Studio -> Sentosa beach -> West coast highway -> East coast Parkway (ECP) -> Singapore Wheels -> Marina Bay -> Padang -> City hall

After running above route, I completed my Median International Singapore Marathon. I was so happy in that movement. Few of my friends are waited for me at finish point and I met them.

My Observations in Singapore:
  • Global Hub international organizations
  • Global Business city
  • Govt plans  based  public need
  • Heavy levy and punishment  for any wrong doings
  • Safety nation
  • City runs in minutes and seconds ( ex: bus, metro )..
  • City is clean and neat
  • People  works for round the clock in day and night
  • Clear communication and information system  wherever go
  • Service Industry
  • Value of human being , special for  Singaporean’s and foreign tourists
  •  Everyone has to work  for self-fulfillment
  • Public spending’s in Casino center
  • Public spending’s in Lottery tickets
We reached safely to home land on 4th Dec.

My Special thanks to Anbu uncle and his family, Selvam, Bala and Singapore friends. My heartful thanks friends, colleagues and my family members.
