Your heartful dream and hard work, make you
awake and assure to achieve your goal.
This statement, I studied and heard in many
forms (like books, Newspaper, TV, Radio, Speech… ) in my whole life in
different events and timelines. When I was completed my first Mumbai
Half Marathon in Mumbai ( Jan 2011 ), I was thinking what is next…. . I decided
to participate any one of the international marathon. I started working for
that..
Our Country India is developing nation. We
(middle class and below middle class people, most of them) go foreign nations
to work irrespective of white color, technical, or non-technical job. It is
very common in our village, my relatives circle and my friends too..
“A guy born in small village like
Ayvathanpatti from developing nation and going for trip to developed nation for
Running Marathon…?” There were million dollar questions in my mind.
But three questions I want share here. .
- Financial capable
- Capable to run Marathon
- Parents Support
I registered for Singapore Half-Marathon in
July and got confirmation too. My friend and I booked tickets and applied Visa.
We started from Bangalore to Singapore via Malaysia. We landed at Changai
International Airport Terminal 2 in Singapore.
We visited for the following places in
Singapore.
- Orchid’s Road
- Singapore Museum
- Singapore National Library
- Singapore National Zoo
- Singapore National Park
- Universal Studio

Half Marathon was scheduled on Dec 1 .
Starting point for Half marathon was Sentosa Land. I collected from
my bib numbers and race kit form EXPO HALL.
Marathon Day:
There were special train service was arranged
whole Singapore for marathon from morning 2:45 am onwards. Our
friend Bala dropped us in Little India MRT. We took (Selvam and myself) MRT
from Little India and reached venue around 5:45 am (Harbour MRT).
My event was started at 6:30 am as scheduled.
Singapore Govt , Police and Singapore Sport council arranged all the needed
facilities. Usually my all previous marathon participation crowded by Indian
nationalities and few international runners. This time it was a vice-versa
case..
Marathon Route:
Gateway Ave -> Palawan Beach walk ->
Siloso beach walk -> Universal Studio -> Sentosa beach -> West coast
highway -> East coast Parkway (ECP) -> Singapore Wheels -> Marina Bay
-> Padang -> City hall
After running above route, I completed my
Median International Singapore Marathon. I was so happy in
that movement. Few of my friends are waited for me at finish point
and I met them.
My Observations in Singapore:
