Airtel Hyderabad Half Marathon, Hyderabad (25 & 26th Aug 2012)
So far, I never visited Hyderabad. I had thought in my mind last year about participation in Hyderabad marathon. Vinoth and I registered for half marathon and booked ticket as well. He did not join last minute due to some work. Karuppasamy and I started on24 Aug late night by SAMPARK KRANTI express. We reached Hyderabad Kachiguda railway station. We booked our near begumpet area.
Saturday we have done some sightseeing as well collected bib numbers. We collected enough information about marathon starting and ending points.
We had been in some sit seeing spot like Birla mandir, Lumin Park, Jubilee hills, GVK one mall and booting.
Race day:
We reached the necklace road around 5 am. Full marathon and Relay race were started with grand opening ceremony. I saw our few Bangalore runners. Half marathon event started at 6 am. After 6 months gap, this was first official event. I started with Half marathon with full of confident and passion.
When I was running I observed the city and places. I enjoyed. After crossing 10 KMs distance, rain was started. I ran the remaining 11 kms in rain environment.
Race route was Necklace Road, Raj bhavan Road, Banjara Hills, HITECH City, IIIT and Gachibowli
Race was completed GMC Balayogi stadium gachibowli. I got a completion medal.
After spending some time in ground, we back to room and refreshed. We went to Paradise biryani restaurant in secunderabad. we had very good Hyderabad biryani. Later we moved Karchi biscuit shop in mozzamhahi market to buy biscuit’s. We visited NTR Park as well nearby Andhra Pradesh Secretariat.
We took Bangalore express train and reached safely to Bangalore.
