Life is Calling - Mysore Half Marathon (27th Oct 2012)

Everyone is aware of that; Bangalore is very famous IT and IT Enabled services in world. In Same state, Mysore is also world class famous for Tradition and rich culture. Who are all visitors to Bangalore or Karnataka, one of the most sight-seeing visit  point would be Mysore.  I had been to Mysore so many times for different reasons. I never had been to Mysore for Marathon.  This was my first time for marathon. This was one of must run marathon, because I got a Registration sponsorship for running this marathon.  I received from “Bangalore Runners 2012 Event – Luck draw coupon”.

As usual Vinoth and me we were registered. He was not able participate. Marathon was postponed to 2 weeks due to Kaveri Water sharing issue. Venkat and I decided about participate in marathon.   We collected requirement information’s from colleagues and friends. We started from Bangalore 3 pm by Tipu Express ( one of the fast train to reach Mysore ) . We reached mysore by 6 pm. We collected our BIB numbers from Reliance Trends in Hunsur Road. We visited Chamundeshwari Temple  in Chamundi Hills. We had Panoramic night view of Mysore and Palace areas. We stayed near Rajaji Nagar area. We roamed for food more than hour in that area.

Marathon Day:

We reached marathon starting point around 6 am near Palace area. This marathon was another special reason for me. I bought new running shoe previous day, without practice and directly running in marathon.  We did small warm-up. I met few regular marathon runners. Race started at 6:45 am. I started my marathon based on my confident and running experience because; I did not practice or run after my Hyderabad marathon. Around 2 month’s gap was between this two races.  The Marathon route was Hunsur Road -> SJCM -> Mysore University ->Karnataka State open University ->  Kukkarahalli Kere ->  All India Institute of Speech and Hearing -> Radhakrishna Avenue -> Chamaraja Double road -> Niligiri Road ->  Mysore Palace.

It was Joyful route. I completely enjoyed the run. First time I had chance to see SJCM Institute. Few of my good friends are studied form that institute. During course of running, I met few runners as well. After 2 hrs 30 minutes I completed successful this year 3rd Official Half-marathon.  I meantime venkat completed his run and waited for me.  He took some captures of event. We visited St. Philomena's Church. We took Tipu express from Mysore station at 11 am and reached by Bangalore 1 pm.

It was one of the unforgettable marathon participation in my running hobby. Specials thanks to Venkat and “Life is calling” Org for their support. Thanks to Family members, Colleagues and friends.
